Stormtrooper Syndrome

I found this just randomly searching Wikipedia during the 4 hour wait between my exams since I am DEFINITELY not going to use it to study. Nothing unknown but I thought it was funny.

Enjoy

Star Wars Hit Probability Equation

P_{\mathrm{hit}}=\frac{1}{n+{\left(x+1 \right)}^3+{\left(J+1\right)}^{10}}
where n is the number of "bad guys", x is the number of "good guys", and J is the number of Jedi present (if any). The equation reads, "The probability of a bad guy hitting his target is equal to the inverse of: all bad guys present plus the cube of the number of good guys present (plus one) plus the number of Jedi present (plus one) to the tenth power." From this, one can infer that the presence of a good guy has a detrimental effect on the bad guys' accuracy, while having even one Jedi present is a veritable death sentence, as well as being more inaccurate in larger numbers.

24 Calories

If you haven't already and go to SFU then I highly recommend reading 24 calories, it's The Peak's spoof off of 24 hours (with similar lay-out and whatnot). Reminds me of Monty Python, somne of the stuff will just seem dumb but you have to start laughing to youself at one article... for me this happened in the medical office waiting room so it was more of a stiffled chuckle but whatever.

My First Titled Entry

Well, I've finally, finally hit a lull in all my paper writing. Only about 200 words of padding to do for my History paper (which will be done throughout the week presumably, since it's due on Thursday) and then all I have is a 1200 word English paper for next weekend. Never thought there'd be a day when the Word Lit in two days would seem easy... but here it is.

I've been working every day this weekend and it's really starting to get old. Four days in a row, that's insane. I can't imagine the drudgery of people who work minimum wage jobs full time and know that they're never going to go anywhere else. They make to pay stubs impossible to find too, and all these little nuisances in filling in the time cards... it's all just getting to me. And then there was this one old lady who dropped her purse and then asked if I could see any of her change, which I couldn't from the other side of the counter. And then she started laughing at me, it was really weird and not exactly the way I wanted to begin a shift. At least I'm starting to get to know people though, it's amazing how many people get fired and steal stuff at grocery stores. And they're stupid enough to brag about it to other employees.

Since this is the first weekend that I've been allowed to use the computer for gaming I've obviously done alot of that. I'm now the undisputed champion of Marvel vs Capcom between me and my brother. It's quite an awesome multiplayer 2D fighter, hopefully I can get someone else interested but Kevin isn't biting.

That's about it for my weekend, hopefully some good movies comes out in the near future so that I can do some serious slacking after exams, which happen to end on the 17th (last day of exams which is a Saturday) for me.

See you all at the reunion.

Hey, I'm not dead yet!

Sure I haven't posted in over a month but there could be other reasons. I mean, I'm not big on frequent posting and certainly can't come up with a shpeel (?) of interesting things that happen everyday/few days. And, if something does happen that people might actually want to hear about, I probably won't be gitty with anticipation to tell them (not that you shouldn't know this, we have been in IB together for 4 years).

Recently though, I have finished all but 1 of my term papers, although one (max 2500 words) is disgustingly short (at 1500). Still, it's great to get that over with so I can focus on stereotypical pass-times like video games. But while I'm still thinking of school, did anyone else have problems with their transfer credit. I'm trying to take Genetics 202 in the spring and I know I have the credits from IB Bio 12 but I still can't take it. *sigh*

See how fast that was, pretty much summed up my month in less than 5 minutes. Just like Peter I guess, monotonous, monotonous, monotonous. Speaking of Peter/IB I should probably see if I need to RSVP Mr.O for that reunion...

Well, time to ride all the way up to SFU to hand in my first essay (ON MY DAY OFF!!!)

Well, the D&D club comes out in 3 days. I should be using that time to study for midterms (actually only have 1 next week but still...). I just hope it isn't like an Anime D&D with fights against mushrooms and other things that anime people like to fight (rabbits and the like).

CRIM continues to be exceptionally boring, (only 70 pages to read this week as opposed to 140 last week!!!) but I've decided to stop reading after the first few articles which mean I end up doing about 50. The prof covers everything important (and believe me, most of that stuff is not important) in lecture anyway. Plus half the articles are saying the exact same thing.

Work hasn't been particularly fun either. I need to work about 8 hours a week of a year to pay for next years tutition but when I told Safeway max 12hrs a week they started giving me 4! Then I said 16 and they're giving me 16 EVERY week, plus a couple 16.5s that they know I won't complain about. I know some people work more than that but for me, 12 is reasonable and I jsut don't want to work during the week. What's worse, they call me every day to ask if I can work more shifts!

Since I'm pretty sure I've covered both of these topics before I guess you could say nothing is really new with me. I was extremely depressed this morning and was going to write an entry about that before, but decided to pretend I was happy (yes, that is my happy tone) in writing and now I am.

*basically in that last sentence I just said "I am happy," if that doesn't sound stupid I don't know what does

I've also starting making (and I may have said this before too, I don't usually re-read my posts and some things carry-on for a while) a new world for a game or story. Only three civilizations of the same race so far but hopefully it will forever remain a work-in-progress so that I can develope it into a realistic society. Maybe someone (Peter? since he's the only one who reads this) can review what I've got so far and suggest some changes?

I would keep writing but not enough happens in my life to write about. Anyone go to that Dive-In at SFU? I heard it was all OLs but then, I didn't go .

Danke gehen Sie jetzt von meinem Rasen weg!
